I am currently a lecturer at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Unicamp) in Brazil.
I am interested in understanding the processes of diversification of Brazilian orchids, especially along the southeast mountain ranges and related to polyploidy, apomixis and mycorrhizal interactions. I am also interested in the role of mycorrhiza for the conservation and reintroduction of orchids from the Atlantic forest.
I was born in Rio de Janeiro and I conducted my BSc at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1998), my MSc and PhD at Unicamp (2001, 2007), all in Brazil. I was a lecturer at Universidade Federal de São Paulo, in Diadema/Brazil, from 2008-2015. I have been a lecturer in the Plant Biology Department of Unicamp since 2015. I have previously worked with Drs. Norris Williams and Mark Whitten (University of Florida/USA) and Mike Fay (Kew Gardens/UK) on phylogenetics and systematics of Maxillariinae orchids.

I am a PhD candidate at the Plant Biology Graduate Programme at Unicamp.
I am studying how climatic variables and mycorrhizal associations are related to the diversification of Zygopetalum orchids and polyploid evolution.

I am a PhD candidate at the Plant Biology Graduate Programme at Unicamp.
I want to understand ecophysiological processes of mycorrhizal associations in orchids native to the Atlantic Forest by analyzing gene expressions associated with the establishment and maintenance of these associations.
